Pricing and Funding

At Cultivate OT Services, we want accessing support to feel as simple as possible. Whether you're funded through NDIS or Medicare, paying privately, or seeking clinical supervision as a fellow OT or student, we've outlined everything you need to know below.

Frequently asked questions

What is Mental Health Occupational Therapy?

Occupational therapy for mental health goes beyond simply "coping" — it's about helping you build a life that genuinely fits who you are. At Cultivate OT Services in Busselton, we take a neurodiversity-affirming, strengths-based approach to mental health occupational therapy, which means we start by understanding how your brain and body work best, rather than trying to change who you are.

Together, we explore your values, sense of identity, and what gives your life meaning and purpose, and use this as the foundation for building practical, everyday strategies. We help you build upon your existing strengths, develop tools to navigate stressors, regulate emotions, and manage anxiety, burnout, or overwhelm, and create sustainable routines that support daily functioning — whether that's at school, at work, in relationships, or simply in day-to-day life. Drawing on approaches like Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), schema therapy, polyvagal theory, and sensory-based strategies, we tailor every session to the individual in front of us.

Who do you see?
We work with both children and adults across the lifespan, including NDIS participants. Whether it's a young child needing support with sensory regulation and emotional development, a teenager navigating school and social challenges, or an adult managing anxiety, burnout, or other mental health concerns — we tailor our approach to the individual.

Do I need a referral?
It depends on your funding pathway. If you're accessing services through Medicare (Better Access) you'll need a referral and Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP. NDIS participants can self-refer if OT is included in their plan. Private clients don't need a referral at all — you're welcome to book directly.

How is OT funded?
We offer a few options: NDIS funding, Medicare (Better Access, Chronic Conditions, Neurodevelopmental Conditions) rebates, and private/self-funded sessions. See our Pricing page for full details on each.

What happens in a first session?
Your first appointment is about getting to know each other. We'll talk through what's bringing you (or your child) in, what's felt tricky, and what you're hoping to get out of therapy. For kids, this often includes some play-based activities so we can get a sense of how they move, communicate, and regulate. There's no pressure — we go at a pace that feels comfortable.

Where are you located, and is parking available?
We're based at 149 Bussell Highway, West Busselton. Parking is at the back of the building and there are always spots available. Entrance to the building is also around the back.

Do you offer telehealth?
Yes absolutely, we use google meet or can offer phone calls.

What age groups do you work with?
Approximately 6 to 106!

How long are sessions, and how often will we need to come?
Generally sessions will go for 50 minutes, with 10 minutes left for therapist note taking. We recommend starting with fortnightly sessions but we can tailor this schedule to your unique needs.

What's your cancellation policy?
We kindly ask that you provide us with 48 hours notice and a cancellation fee applies.

Is everything confidential?
Yes. What's shared in sessions is kept confidential, in line with our professional and legal obligations. The only exceptions are situations involving risk of harm, which we'd always discuss openly with you first wherever possible. We can discuss this further in session.

Do you offer clinical supervision for other OTs or students?
Yes — see our Pricing page for details on supervision options.
